Welcome.

The Wisconsin Marina Association (WHA) will launch in fall 2008 to create a forum to connect marina owners and operators to industry information and obtain feedback on ideas and needs to help enhance Wisconsin’s great marinas, promote boating and increase tourism to harbor towns.

Wisconsin Harbor Towns Association received funding support from Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Wisconsin Coastal Management Program to help the creation of the organization with the future being plotted by the members of the Association.

The many benefits of the WMA will include:
  • Marina promotion through a marina listing on the new www.wisconsinharbortowns.org Web site and marketing and media coverage with WHTA projects and promotions

  • Networking with other marinas to share ideas that can positively affect your bottom line

  • Information on important issues such as dredging, lake levels, invasive species and new regulations

  • Creating a collaborative voice to work on important issues

  • Workshops and newsletters to keep you up-to-date on current issues and funding opportunities

  • News and assistance in participating in the voluntary Wisconsin Clean Marina Project launching in 2009 with the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute

  • A venue to share best management practices for improved Great Lakes health – a copy of the Ship Shape Magazine is included for more information

  • Educational material for boaters, fishermen and tourists like the new Simple Solutions to Great Lakes Health Resource Guide including Great Lakes facts and responsible boating practices.
